New Director Jennifer Lawless featured in CBC interview



On August 6th, Director Jennifer Lawless was interviewed by the Canadian Broadcasting Company on the confirmation hearings of Sonia Sotomayor. In the interview, Dr. Lawless comments on the cross-party voting of nine Senate Republicans who voted to confirm Sotomayor. Dr. Lawless also speculates about what we can expect to see from Justice Sotomayor as she takes the bench and how her voting will influence and/or change the court.

Jennifer L. Lawless is an expert on women’s political ambition and the lead author of It Takes a Candidate: Why Women Don't Run for Office (with Richard L. Fox). She is the Director of the Women & Politics Institute at American University, where she is also an Associate Professor of Government.
